Hkvam at Akureyri’s Summer of Arts 2007

Helga got the task of doing a photo for Akureyri’s Summer of Arts 2007, with a sculptural arts piece by the artists Sveinbjörg Ásgeirsdóttir and Charlotta Þorgils, graduates from Akureyri’s School of Fine Arts.

The boxes were white painted MDF boxes with real goose wings, displayed in a gallery as a V-formation.

The shoot took place on a field in Hallland, Eyjafjörður, with the help of 3 persons acting as “stands” for the artwork.The final photo is a composite of 5 photographs, since only 3 goosewing boxes were on-site, editing out the persons holding the boxes and layering the images so the box goose were flying in a V shape towards the town of Akureyri, N-Iceland.The photograph was used in all promotional material for the Summer of Arts; posters, brochures, web site etc.
